Douglas Cox, FNP-BC, is a caring family nurse practitioner and the co-founder of L & D Medical Center in Powder Springs, Georgia.
Douglas was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan and then went on to join the U.S. Army. Douglas served in the army for 10 years and was a part of the Operation Desert Storm.
After graduating, he was recruited by the Cobb County Police Department, where he worked in law enforcement and investigations for more than seven years. After some time as a police officer, he went on to pursue his medical education at Kennesaw State University and Georgia State University and his postgraduate education at Emory University.
Douglas has worked in several health fields, including internal medicine, pain management, critical care, and emergency medicine. He has provided health care at Atlanta Grady Hospital, Piedmont Atlanta Hospital, Emory University Hospital, Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center, and St. Joseph’s Hospital.
